    The Role

    The Director of Development furthers the mission of the school by coordinating and executing the advancement efforts for fundraising, event planning, grant-writing, and donor relations. The position reports to and is evaluated by the President. The Director of Development serves as a key liaison to stakeholders, including individuals, community organizations, foundations, and corporations.

    Candidate Profile & Responsibilities
    The Director of Development must be a Catholic in good standing with the Catholic Church, who assents to the Church's teachings on all matters, with particular care for those concerning the nature of the human person, sexual ethics and sexual identity. The candidate shall possess a zeal for the Lord, living the faith in all aspects of life, with an ability to speak comfortably and competently to the JPG team and stakeholders.
    This is a salaried position requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week plus a willingness to devote additional time for community and donor engagement events, which often occur in the evenings and weekends.
    In terms of the performance and personal competencies expected for the position, we would highlight the following:
    Bachelor's degree required
    A minimum of 5 years of measurable professional experience, preferably in the area of fundraising, development, advancement or sales.
    Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to cultivate relationships across various levels
    Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, including evidence of enhancing an organization's strength and sustainability.
    Demonstrated success in identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding individual and corporate gifts and foundation grants. Portfolio management at the major gift level is a plus.
    Demonstrated ability in planning and implementing goals and initiatives with a high degree of flexibility and initiative.
    A "self-starter" with demonstrated organizational excellence in handling, directing, and prioritizing multiple assignments/projects with a keen attention to detail.
    Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Preferred experience with donor management software, mail merge, editing software or web applications, such as Squarespace and Canva.
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    Manage, steward, and successfully convert a portfolio of potential major donors through the completion of the final phase of the $45m Capital Campaign ($15m+ to be raised).
    Implement strategies and report progress regarding donor pipeline for major and annual gifts.
    Work with the President and Development Committee to execute capital campaigns, annual funds, and major gifts programs including identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors.
    The Development Director will be responsible for his/or her efforts, plus will advise and support the President and Board in their development efforts as well, ensuring a cohesive and constant effort.
    Direct and manage the Campaign Manager.
    Develop deep and meaningful relationships with benefactors and key stakeholders, documenting progress in a move-management system including "next best actions."
    Serve as a member of the School Leadership Team, working collaboratively to implement the mission of the school and to support the vision of the President, school leadership and Board of Trustees.
    Pursue grant opportunities that support and enhance the mission of the school.
    Create a planned giving program.
    Manage the existing donor database and tracking systems, including donor recognition programs, to include processes for gift acknowledgments and donor appreciation.
    Attend board meetings, outside events and periodic planning meetings with various ministry partners, as needed.
    Direct work with marketing staff/consultants to ensure marketing efforts and developed collateral and materials for fundraising maintain consistent messaging and branding and donors are consistently and properly engaged.
