The principal is responsible for establishing and promoting the academy's high academic and behavioral standards as well as ensuring that the school remains faithful to its Catholic mission.
The principal works in conjunction with the school board to ensure that all policies, regulations and procedures align with the mission and vision of the academy.
Regular duties include (but are not limited to):
*Overseeing a periodic review of curriculum to ensure it meets the academy's standards for academic excellence.
*Maintaining strong lines of communication between parents, staff, board, and students.
*Actively promoting the school in the community and working to increase student enrollment.
*Creating the academic calendar and schedule.
*Conducting regular classroom observations, teacher evaluations, overseeing professional development of staff.
*Monitoring and ensuring proper inventory of school supplies and maintenance needs.
*Maintaining and updating school's safety protocol and emergency response plans.
*Time permitting, willingness to teach a class.
*Faithful, actively practicing Catholic, willing to promote the school's mission and academic, spiritual, and moral standards.
*Demonstrated experience working well with others in a collaborative professional environment.
*Strong social and communication skills (both oral and writing).
*Adept at conflict management and resolution.
*Ability to multitask, delegate, and oversee multiple projects.
*Must live in or be willing to relocate to Montrose, Colorado. Housing provided for the principal is available for the right candidate.
*Five or more years teaching and/or school administration experience.
*Principal licensure not required, but candidates should possess relevant leadership experience or training.
