RELIGIOUS EDUCATION ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT (Part Time)
THE POSITION
St. Frances Cabrini Parish in Littleton, Colorado, is a thriving parish in the southwest Denver metropolitan area, part of the Archdiocese of Denver. The Parish is seeking applicants for Religious Education (RE) Administrative Assistant, a part-time position. The candidate must be Catholic in good standing with the Church and lead a life in accord with Catholic teachings and beliefs.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
This is a part-time position, with approximately 24-28 hours per week. The candidate must be a Catholic, in good standing with the Church, and lead a life in accord with Catholic teachings and beliefs. The position requires an individual who is very detail oriented, organized, professional in both appearance and attitude, and a creative self-starter able to follow and ask for direction. It is critical for the candidate to possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, and to be proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Publisher, Power Point, and Outlook. The Candidate must be able to supply strong administrative support for the RE department and coordination for its programs, volunteers, and families, and should have a catechetical background to be able to teach a children's faith formation class when needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1) Primary Responsibilities:
a. Set up and cleanup before and after classes.
b. Welcoming new families, preparing materials.
c. Communication with volunteer Catechists, families, and children.
d. Maintain records and supplies.
e. Providing overall administrative support for the RE Children's Faith Formation (CFF) department.
2) Organizational Relationships:
a. Reports to the Pastoral Associate, Parish Life, who also fills the role of Director of RE.
b. Works closely with the lead Administrative Assistant.
3) Work Hours:
a. 24-28 hours per week, primarily Mondays through Thursdays - days and some evenings
b. Some weekend hours for special events (such as retreats and Sacramental Masses, etc.).
BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS
1) A person of Faith
a. A mature, fully initiated practicing Catholic, actively living in accordance with the teachings of the Church and committed to ongoing personal and spiritual formation in the Catholic Faith.
b. A passion for the Catholic Church and Her mission in the world.
c. An ability to effectively communicate the Faith with accuracy, joy, and a welcoming presence.
2) An ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion and confidentiality.
3) Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
4) A High School diploma or equivalent.
5) A volunteer or employed catechetical background, preferably with children, is desirable.
6) Completion of a Background Check before hiring and Safe Environment Training upon hiring.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
1) Administrative:
a. Prepares name tags
b. Monitors classrooms during class times
c. Answers phone calls and email as needed
d. Creates forms; assembles and prepares materials for RE program and events (make photocopies and scans as needed, dividing materials by class)
e. Stocks RE supplies
2) Collaboration and communication with Volunteer Catechists:
a. Communicates with volunteers for all RE programs including weekly reminders
b. Responsible for communication to program participants including reminders and announcements
c. Substitute for classes if primary volunteer Catechist cannot attend (or find substitute)
d. Prepares class books and attendance sheets weekly
e. Tracks RE attendance
3) Management of RE Registration Database:
a. Maintenance
b. Adds registrations, produces reports from database on request, including update class registration lists
c. Maintains accurate email lists
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1) Able to lift up to 25 pounds
2) Able to walk up and down stairs easily
