Job Description St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School is currently interviewing to hire a full-time licensed (Colorado certified) Elementary and Middle School Reading Intervention Specialist for the 2022-2023 school year, beginning in August of 2022. Orton-Gillingham training is a plus. Part-time is also a consideration.
The following are encouraged to apply: Experienced educators that have taught in Catholic schools and support and understand the Catholic school mission; licensed/certified to work extensively with students. To implement evidence-based, structured literacy interventions to help students improve specific reading skills such as phonemic awareness, alphabetic principle, explicit phonics, fluency and comprehension. To design interventions and write lesson plans detailing methods and materials.
Responsibilities include: Facilitate and coordinate the St. Vincent de Paul RTI protocol, administer screening and progress monitoring assessments, analyze assessment data, provide targeted, intensive, literacy interventions to students in grades K-3 and 6-8, collaborate with classroom teachers in the design and implementation of effective Tier 1 and Tier 2 literacy interventions, coordinate the referral and evaluation process between St. Vincent de Paul and Denver Public Schools, develop, implement and update Action Plans (504s) for identified students, provide students with ongoing support and training in assistive technology and executive functioning skills and strategies
