St. Pius School is seeking a qualified, dynamic, and caring Resource Specialist Teacher (Grades 5-8) for the 2023-2024 school year. The ideal candidate will be able to engage students with differentiated learning and support their learning difference needs.
Qualifications:
• A Bachelor's degree • A valid CA Teaching credential (or a reciprocal credential from another state) is preferred (not required) • Excellent student management skills and a dynamic, healthy rapport with students • Teaching experience with children ages 9 to 14 • Demonstrated communication skills with parents, students and colleagues
Position Responsibilities:
• Work with teachers to identify and differentiate struggling or advanced students. • Refer students for evaluation if classroom and Resource interventions have not resulted in significant progress. Provide information to parents about the evaluation process. • Keep the Learning Resource Plan and RTI forms updated in collaboration with teachers. • Develop the initial Learning Resource Plan and forward to parents. • Hold and manage SST meetings.
