We are looking for full and part time committed, faithful teachers who will join us in our pursuit of a joyfully Catholic, classical education. Experience with classical education or a great books curriculum (Chesterton Academy or similar) is preferred. The ideal candidate will be willing to teach an array of subjects within the disciplines of science and mathematics, literature, history, and theology. We are looking for teachers with experience in and passion for Catholic classical education in the following disciplines. Part time options may also be available.
HUMANITIES: Theology, Philosophy, History, Literature, Debate
ARTS: Art, Music/Choir
LANGUAGE: Latin, Spanish
MATH & SCIENCE: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Algebra, Calculus, Statistics
To teach HUMANITIES courses, successful candidates shall be skilled in teaching multiple levels of the following subjects: History, Latin, Literature, Writing, Philosophy, and Theology. A bachelor's or master's degree in the subject or a related Humanities field is required.
To teach MATH or SCIENCE courses, a bachelor's or master's degree in the field is required, with previous experience teaching Math (Geometry, Algebra II/Trigonometry, Statistics, Pre-Calculus, or Calculus) or Science (Geology, Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, or Physics).

First Year Spanish Teacher (Spanish I): Requires fluency in and experience teaching Spanish.
Art Teacher: The Chesterton Academy has a thorough and rigorous art program, involving history, theory, and practice. For the upcoming year, our Art Teacher will be teaching Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior Art.
Freshman Art: Introduce students to the basic concepts of representative drawing and calligraphy; Introduce students to the history of art: Paleolithic through Egypt, ancient Mesopotamia, Minoan and Mycenaean art, ending with the Classical Age.
Sophomore Art: Continue with representational drawing, in various media, including longer-term, more refined projects; Introduce students to early Christian art, Early Medieval, Byzantine, and Gothic, and Northern Renaissance art.
Junior Art: Introduce the tools and techniques of oil painting; Introduce Italian Renaissance, Mannerist, Baroque, and Rococo styles, through the Art Academies of Europe.
Biology Teacher: Requires knowledge of and experience teaching basic high school level biology.
Physics Teacher: Requires knowledge of and experience teaching basic high school level physics.
Chemistry Teacher: Requires knowledge of and experience teaching basic high school level chemistry.
Qualifications and Requirements
For all positions, three to five years of teaching experience is preferred, though we will consider candidates without extensive experience.
The candidate must be a practicing Catholic and willing to take the Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium. Candidates must demonstrate excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, and possess a track record of contributing to the vision and mission of an apostolic and educational enterprise.
In addition to their teaching responsibilities, faculty at Chesterton Academy participate in the House system, which is designed to promote character and virtue, and to help students grow in holiness. Faculty members are required to attend daily Mass with the entire student body, assist in leading spiritual retreats and school activities, and joyfully witness by their life and teaching to a life in Christ.
