Chesterton Academy of The Most Holy Eucharist is a Classical Catholic that opened its doors in the Fall of 2022 in Yuba City, CA. We are seeking part and full-time teachers in Humanities, Science, Latin, Euclidean Geometry, PE, and Fine Arts. Chesterton's curriculum consists chiefly of primary sources. Through this curriculum teachers will help students cultivate authentic friendship rooted in shared inquiry into the nature of reality. Teachers will be responsible for providing high quality instruction and mentorship that helps students develop dispositions of wonder, friendship, and faith.
Key skills include careful planning, clear communication, classroom leadership, strong organization, and the ability to establish a classroom environment characterized by joy, respect, order, wonder, and deep engagement. Strong applicants must be animated by a spirit of wonder and the desire to grow intellectually, morally, and in faith. The ability and desire to teach in a variety of disciplines is considered an asset. Having taught or previously been educated in classical schools is desirable.
Chesterton is committed to supporting the ongoing intellectual, professional, and spiritual formation of teachers, and provides teacher coaching, an intentional culture of growth, a robust school culture that goes beyond the classroom, and opportunities for fellowship and community outside the normal school day.
Teachers hired for the coming year will be part time (up to 3/4 time), with the possibility of full-time responsibilities beginning in the 2024-2025 school year. As desired, successful candidates may supplement income with additional part-time responsibilities at the adjacent elementary/middle school.
Teachers will take an Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. Part-time teachers are encouraged to attend daily Mass at the school, and attendance is required of all teachers for special Masses (first day of school, Mass of the Holy Spirit and Oath Taking, graduation, etc.).
Chesterton Academy of The Most Holy Eucharist participates in the uniquely active parish life of St. Isidore's Catholic Church. St. Isidore's Catholic Church is strongly centered on the Eucharist, offering 24/7 Adoration, daily Mass in English and Spanish, and the Sacrament of Confession five days per week.
Additionally, the Chesterton campus is set in the beautiful backdrop of Northern California, with access to the Sierras and Pacific Coast in under two hours, and renowned as the Farm to Fork Capital of the U.S.
