Marin Catholic currently has an opening for a full-time Co-Dean of Students starting in the 2023-24 school year.
* Position will begin August 2023.
Marin Catholic is seeking someone who will help advance our Mission by fostering a greater sense of personal and social responsibility among our students.
The Co-Deans are responsible for the communication and enforcement of the Student Code of Behavior as outlined in the Student/Parent Handbook. Primary to the role is the establishment, communication and enforcement of disciplinary procedures to both enrich and secure the school environment. This includes the development of trust with teachers, students, and parents to inspire confidence that school rules will be enforced consistently and fairly. Th Co-Deans of Students have significant influence over the climate of student culture and do so in the spirit of our Catholic mission and Duc In Altum.
The Co-Deans report directly to the Asst. Principal for Student Affairs and sits on the Leadership Team.
Duties of the Co-Deans include:
- Oversight of all policies regarding the Student Code of Behavior and its daily enforcement.
-Management and monitoring of campus supervision, as well as co- and extra-curricular events.
-Meeting with students regarding issues related to behavior; follow up with parents, teachers, and counselors; determination and implementation of appropriate consequences; monitoring behavior contracts.
-Management of all COVI cases, protocols and communications for students in accordance with Marin County Health & Human Services.
-Management of MC parking, lockers yearbook quotes and yearly pictures.
-Oversight of Student Activities and Class Moderators.
-Management and execution of the campus emergency plans and procedures.
-Performs other duties as determined by the Principal (which may include teaching).;
Qualifications, experience, knowledge & skills for the position:
-Bachelor's degree
-Experience with students in a Catholic high school setting, preferred
-Practicing Catholic in good standing, preferred
-Desire to share his/her faith journey
-Intellectually curious and willing to grow professionally
-Student focused and lifelong learner
-Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, students and staff
-Maintains best professional practices in communicating with peers, students and parents
-Salary range $85-$95K - commensurate with education and experience.
