    DIRECTOR OF FACILITIES

    Full-time, onsite in Irondale (Birmingham), AL. Not remote-eligible.

    HOW YOU WILL IMPACT THE BIG PICTURE:
    As the Director of Facilities and reporting to the CEO, you will oversee all construction/renovation projects and work with the Facilities Manager to provide direction and oversight of facilities and grounds keeping activities, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for employees and guests at the Network.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO:

    Vendor and Project Management:

    • Provide planning, design, review and management of all construction and renovation projects; establish productivity targets, timelines, milestones, and manage budget expenditures.
    • Oversee construction activities and scheduling, including contractors, and provide project updates to the Chief Executive Officer.
    • Under leadership direction, negotiate contracts and ensure contracts are reviewed and approved.

    Safety Standards and Management:

    • Oversee all NFPA Fire and Life Safety codes and standards, participate in OSHA compliance, and work with the Safety & Security Manager on inspections for the Irondale and Vandiver facilities.
    • Assess and maintain building operational efficiency to ensure safe working conditions, including all buildings, equipment, machinery, and systems.
    • Work with relevant authorities to ensure compliance with local, state and federal codes and regulations related to building standards.

    Building and Grounds Maintenance:

    • Work with the Facilities Manager to establish the facilities and grounds keeping standard operating procedures and preventative maintenance programs, ensuring all electrical, mechanical, plumbing, utilities and HVAC systems are in operative and safe working condition.

    Additional Projects:

    • Partner with the Facilities Manager and Human Resources to build a strong team aligned with EWTN values, providing leadership, coaching, direction, and training.
    • Prepare and manage the department budget and control expenditures.
    • Work with architects and design firms on office planning and design for the Alabama offices and assist the Washington, DC office as necessary.
    • Maintain office floor plans and architectural diagrams, work with various department staff on office and space planning.

    ABOUT YOU:

    • You have a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Facilities management and experience overseeing construction projects.
    • You have demonstrated experience in facilities planning/design/construction, utility operation and infrastructure, mechanical and electrical systems, and project management for mid to large-sized, multi-site organizations.
    • You have a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field, and/or equivalent training and experience.
    • You are comfortable in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and have experience with project management tools and Building Maintenance Systems software.
    • You have strong communication and supervisory skills with the ability to work well in a team environment.
    • You are able to be on-call for Facilities/Maintenance emergencies if the Facilities Manager is not available.
    • You are able to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs, and bend, move, and stand/ walk for long periods of time. You are able to travel up to 15% of the time.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • PMP, CCM, CPC, CFM or other relevant certification.
    • Practicing Catholic with understanding of the Catholic Faith and commitment to EWTN's mission.
