HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST
Full-time, onsite in Irondale (Birmingham), AL. Not remote-eligible.
HOW YOU WILL IMPACT THE BIG PICTURE:
As the HR Generalist, you will directly assist the Human Resources Manager and Vice President of Human Resources in implementing and administering human resource programs and activities. This includes policy and procedure updates, employee relations, performance management, compensation, employee engagement, recruiting and staffing, benefit administration, and regulatory compliance. Your dedication and diligence will help foster a positive work environment for all employees, reflecting our strong EWTN values.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
• Answer employee questions on policies and procedures and provide assistance in implementing HR policies and programs.
• Work with the HR Manager, Recruiter and Hiring Managers to determine staffing needs, review/modify job descriptions, screen applicants and assist with onboarding and orientation for new employees.
• Proactively address and resolve employment issues in a timely manner.
• Work closely with management and employees to build engagement and retention.
• Facilitate the performance review process, conduct exit interviews, assist with compliance and reporting tasks, and identify and implement training needs.
• Work with the Benefit Specialist on benefit administration, facilitate leave of absences, and ensure compliance with FMLA and all applicable laws.
• Demonstrate and model EWTN's values, displaying the highest degree of integrity, confidentiality and instilling trust. Help foster a positive work environment that promotes dignity and respect in line with the EWTN mission.
ABOUT YOU:
• You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources.
• You are well versed in employment laws and regulations.
• You have a working knowledge of recruiting and onboarding best practices.
• You are conversant in principles of performance management and progressive discipline.
• You are proficient with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) and have a knowledge of HRIS systems (UltiPro or ADP preferred), with strong reporting skills.
• You posses strong relationship building and interpersonal skills.
• You have a customer service orientation with sharp problem-solving skills - and are able to handle difficult situations in a calm and professional manner.
• You pride yourself on maintaining a high-level of integrity with attention and care given to confidentiality.
• You are a positive, highly motivated and organized individual with solid time management skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Practicing Catholic with an affinity for EWTN's mission.
• Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Sociology, Business, or related field.
• PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
