Position Overview: * The High School Pre-Calculus Teacher position is responsible for educating high school students in advanced mathematics, specifically Pre-Calculus. * The role emphasizes the development of essential mathematical concepts and problem-solving skills, while also fostering critical thinking and analytical abilities among students. * The teacher will create/execute pre-determined lesson plans, assess student performance, and collaborate with faculty to enhance the educational experience. * All Chesterton Academy teachers are employed at-will and operate as professionals within the guidelines established by the Board of Directors, Mission, Vision, and Philosophy of Chesterton Academy of Wichita Falls.
Responsibilities: * Develop and implement effective lessons embodying classical teaching principles * Build appropriate relationships with the students that develops a passion for learning and a love for God and others * Assist students in improving skills and study habits * Effectively assess the academic, moral, and spiritual growth of the students * Be sensitive to academic and behavioral concerns as they are developing and intervene immediately * Provide extra tutoring for any student struggling with a subject or skill * Demonstrate effective classroom management skills * Compile and maintain all reports and documents required for student records * Communicate frequently with students and their parents * Create a welcoming, nurturing, and age-appropriate classroom environment * Diligently enforce all school policies * Effectively supervise students during non-academic periods such as lunch, chapel, or study halls
Requirements * Practicing Roman Catholic and demonstrate a commitment to Catholic secondary education (Preferred) * Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a related field (Master's preferred). * 2+ years teaching experience in a classical school environment (Preferred) * Exemplary verbal and written communication skills * Resilient and adaptable and possess strong time management and organizational skills * Committed to the mission of Chesterton Schools Network and the teachings of the Catholic church. * A love for his/her subject matter and students * An understanding of and adherence to Chesterton Academy's mission, philosophy of education, and organizational culture * Effective interpersonal skills including the ability to interface with students, parents, colleagues and administrators with grace, sensitivity, and flexibility * The ability to collaborate successfully with faculty, staff and the school board
